The Resort is spread out over 150 acres of Jungle and caters to those who want to disconnect from our modern-day stressful lifestyle … and connect with Mother Nature.
All guests have full access to our many adventure activities including a high rope course, an aerial rope, a monkey rope, waterfall sliding … and much more.
If you enjoy waterfalls, and who doesn’t, there 5 different falls nearby – fed by a year round gushing mountain stream.
Our restaurant caters to 50 but you may choose to dine in privacy. A vegetarian BBQ and vegetarian food is served in the restaurant or in a outdoor setting of your choice. Our aim is to provide you with a diverse experience, so we suggest you partake of your 3 meals in three different jungle settings.
There are sitting areas and decks scattered throughout the resort. Places to just sit and be. At night, you may choose to sit around our campfire and enjoy the embers that rise to the stars.
There are numerous bird and butterfly trails where you will surely spot some of our endemic birds. The resort is full of natural herbs and so Sri Lankan Ayurveda and organic herbal treatments called “Helawedakama” are always available.
Our CSR Bee Keeping Project is also located at the main resort. Wild Bee Honey is packaged and marketed by Wild Holidays. This is a non-profit venture designed to employ local villagers – in keeping with the fundamentals of Eco tourism.
There are 28 Eco Lodges provided – all with riverfront settings.
Eco Jungle Chalet
There are 16 chalets, these spacious rooms, featuring a private balcony with a view of the rushing river, are perfect for honeymooners or couples looking to escape the hustle and bustle of the city lights for a romantic getaway. Room Include private bathroom facilities, solid timber flooring and full-length glass walls with draping. You and your partner can wake up to the sound of the rushing river as the morning light trickles through your 4-poster bed which is draped with mosquito netting.
Eco Jungle Cottage
There are 6 Chalets. Each Eco Chalets has 2 rooms. One on the upper and one on the ground floor. All chalets are based on double sharing and can be converted to triple sharing on request. Your chalet features a balcony overlooking the river, covered by glass and fitted with parquet flooring, mosquito net seating. Rooms come with a shared toilet and shared bathroom with full shower facilities.
Eco Jungle Cabin
There are 6 rooms available and each eco chalets has 2 rooms on the upper and ground floor. All rooms are on a double sharing basis and can be converted to a triple sharing basis on request. Your room has a balcony overlooking the river. Open to the environment, rooms are comfy and fitted with parquet flooring, a mosquito net and a seating area. Standard rooms come with a shared toilet and a shared bathroom with full shower facilities.
Please note
Ella Jungle Resort is located approximately 2.5 km in the jungle, where vehicle access is limited and only up to a certain point. Up to this point the resort will provide transportation in their jeep. A small stretch of 400 metres has to be travelled on foot. It is advisable to bring a change of clothes for your stay. Guests can leave their belongings in the vehicle itself. All rooms do not have hot water. The Resort does not offer free accommodation or meals for the driver or any personal guides.
