Davton got memorable experience to reassure – 21st January 2015

In the journey of re awaking the entire nation, Wilders were able to work with a group of professionals from Davton . The team took the challenge in high spirits with Wilders at Thotupola Lake side. They participated in an array of activities both in Water and on land. The attending Wilders made sure that the day was a total success and a memorable experience to reassure .

Nations Trust Bank’s – Millennium Branch

A set of sixteen new recruits and two officials of Nations Trust Bank’s – Millennium Branch underwent  a successful one day training programme at Thotupola Lakeside Resort very recently. The programme was held on 04th October 2013 and the young new recruits were exposed to their first outward bound adventure experience. Team building & team bonding were the main objectives of the training programme while the music therapy was used as a tool for mental relaxation. The team was delighted about their first exposure and we wish all the best to their newly started career.

Sri Lanka Cricket – Under 19 World Cup Pool

A two days residential training programme was conducted at Thotupola Lakeside Resort on first & second of October 2013. 28 young school cricketers along with 8 officials were participated in the training programme and the young school payers were geared with the team passion to thrive for the team victory and to bring the Asian Cup early 2014 and the Under 19 World Cup at the later part of 2014.

“Drive for Global Excellence” – Load Star Challenge

The third training programme of re-engineering the Load Star work force was successfully completed at Ella Jungle Resort from 13th to 15th September 2013. 25 participants of Load Star ETD 1 were participated in the 3 days training programme and were re-engineered with sensitivity, appreciation, identifying true self-potential, breaking barriers, team collaboration, meditation & yoga for mental & body relaxation, exercise for physical wellness & music for  peace of mind. Finally the three teams were given a mini project to be implemented in the work environment and the most successful team project will be awarded.

Our Wild Bee Honey Project

Sri Lanka imports about 60-70 tonnes of honey annually. With ideal climatic conditions, a wide array of nectar bearing flora and available technical expertise, an immense potential exists as a profitable business venture. Bee keeping does not require full time labour. 25-30 colonies can be managed by a single person while fully employed elsewhere. Wild Holidays launched this CSR project to promote bees honey production and to promote the living condition of low income families in Uva Province. Mainly including villages of  Bandarawela, Ella, and Wellawaya. Already 100 bee boxes have been established in Ella Jungle Resort and 100 are being distributed among selected farmers who will be fully trained.

Mattala International Airport Opens

The day March 18th, 2013 will go down in history as a significant day for Sri Lanka’s aviation sector, as we opened our second international airport at Mattala Hambantota, with two UAE airlines making ceremonial flights. Mahinda Rajapakshe International Airport (MRIA), can also be called Sri Lanka’s second gateway to the world. It is also the only available air strip in Sri lanka that could land the world’s largest aircraft – the A380. Mattala International Airport & its support projects are funded by the Chinese Government. Construction began in late November 2009 and it is implemented as an eco friendly airport. In the first phase of development, all basic facilities have been completed, which includes a runway, taxiways and parking facilities. It could accommodate any airline in the world, including the majestic Airbus A380. In the second stage of development, facilities such as an aircraft servicing and repairing centre, flying school, maintenance hub, private jet parking, cargo terminals, technical training centre, hotels, and many more facilities are scheduled to be completed. Upon completion this will bring massive infrastructural development to the region. The airport is currently able to accommodate one million passengers per annum, but the government plans to expand it to handle five million passengers by 2015, and by 2020 to handle a passenger capacity of 21 million.
